About Us
Global Goods Charitable Group
Our Organization
The Global Goods Charitable Group (501c) is a small organization dedicated to making a difference in the world one person at a time.
We know that education improves the quality of life for individuals, families, and villages by providing opportunities to advance and enrich lives.
By investing in formal education, training programs, and vocational projects globally, we believe these students and their families will have a better quality of life.
Our funding is sourced entirely from grants, direct donations, and fundraising events, allowing the Global Goods Charitable Group to allocate every penny raised directly to grassroots projects. With no paid staff, we ensure that 100% of contributions are invested in our mission, maintaining minimal expenses and maximizing the impact of our efforts in education around the world.

Our History
Global Goods Charitable Group began in a small market town in Tanzania, East Africa.
What started as a conversation with a young man, Amon, developed into a sponsorship for him to attend Dar Es Salaam University. While Amon was in school, he sent some handmade items for us to sell as a way to help with his tuition expense. And so, with a love of travel and appreciation for the value of education to improve lives, Global Goods was born. Since 2003, Global Goods’ main fundraising model was to sell globally sourced, fair trade artisan products. In 2024 Global Goods evolved into a formal 501(c)3 federally recognized nonprofit with the name Global Goods Charitable Group and a new Board of Directors. Our original inspiration, Amon, graduated in 2001 and is now an independent businessman living with his family in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania. We are the proud godparents of his eldest son Rodgers, named after us.
Our specific global projects have been serendipitously discovered through personal recommendations and connections. A guest house in Guatemala, Central America, introduced us to a free indigenous school, a brochure by a graphic artist brought us to our Balinese foundation, a cousin of a friend introduced us to Uganda, etc. Some projects we visit yearly while others less often. In person and on line, we discuss the needs, and then make decisions about how best to use the grant.
Our Founder

Jacquie Rodgers
Founder & President
Since she was a young child, Jacquie Rodgers has had an intense interest in other cultures and countries. Having hosted many international students as a teen and a young mother, she was first able to travel virtually through these visitors. Being a teacher for 31 years primarily at Maynard High School, she took advantage of vacation periods to travel and had two sabbatical leaves when she lived and studied overseas.
On a trip to Tanzania, she met a young man, Amon, whom she sponsored to attend the University of Dar es Salaam. When he sent some handmade market items to sell to help with his tuition, the idea of Global Goods was born. Jacquie knew how education can change lives and wanted to do more. While traveling globally, she began sourcing artisan made goods and selling them from her home. She decided to leave school and develop Global Goods, creating a school fundraising program, a retail store, and building a dedicated room in her home for sales. In 2024, Jacquie reorganized Global Goods into a federally recognized nonprofit 501(c)3 with a new Board of Directors, a new name Global Goods Charitable Group, and a new approach to fundraising.
Global Goods has been a family affair with Jacquie’s two daughters, Danielle Mannion and Lee McDonagh, who have been actively involved as incorporators and on the Board of Directors. Her husband Alan from New Zealand has lugged 50 pound bags around the world and built the Global Goods room. Jacquie continues to travel extensively having traveled to over 100 countries, some multiple times. She visits the partner foundations regularly to discuss their needs and to assess the impact Global Goods is having. Since its inception, Jacquie and Global Goods have raised over $468,000 in donations.
