| | | Our good friends Duyen and Trung, in Hoi An, Vietnam, introduced us to this Australian foundation. On a recent trip to Vietnam, we met with Robyn, the founder and on site director of Children’s Hope in Action. We were very impressed with her spirited dedication and the impact of her medical and educational work in these rural areas. CHIA’s basic mission is to provide support with health, disabilities, and education services for the families of disadvantaged children, Easily corrected conditions such as cleft palate, hydrocephalus, talipes (clubbed feet) become life-limiting conditions in rural Vietnam where access to health care, education, and finances prevent treatment. More acute illnesses cannot easily be treated with up to date procedures and care. Parents who are barely managing the basic needs of life cannot pay simple school fees and necessary supplies such as uniforms and books. CHIA helps with medical education, visiting medical teams, school sponsorships, and more. Our frequent trips to Vietnam now include bringing infant clothing and medical and educational supplies to CHIA. | |
