Since I was a teenager, I have been involved with IBP sending books overseas. Their mission is to promote education and literacy around the globe and at home. They send individual boxes of books or entire shipping containers full of books to schools, libraries, Peace Corps volunteers, hospitals, and other organizations promoting literacy in the community. The books may be general library books, textbooks for kindergarten through graduate level, specialized medical or technical books, and other reference materials. They also will send books in response to natural or humanitarian crises that have impacted a community. With Global Goods, we have been able to donate on a much larger basis including a large shipment to Uganda.
